Volunteer Opportunities

There are many ways you can support us at OTEC. We're always looking for people with a variety of skills to help us with our many activities, projects and programs. Take a look and find out where you can help today!

  • Driving

You can play an important role in helping participants get to and from the OTEC office and attend special events or social outings. This position is perfect for someone reliable and friendly who enjoys supporting others and making a direct impact in their community. A valid driver’s license and access to a safe, insured vehicle are required.

  • Social Outings

Help create meaningful, fun experiences for our participants by taking them out into the community. Whether it’s a group trip to the park, a visit to a local museum, a quick coffee run, or a walk around the neighborhood, these small adventures help participants feel more connected, confident, and included. Outings can be one-on-one or with a small group—every bit of time and effort makes a big difference.

  • Garden

Support the upkeep and growth of OTEC’s garden space, helping create a calm, welcoming environment for participants. This role involves planting, watering, weeding, harvesting, and general maintenance, while also providing opportunities to engage with others in a peaceful outdoor setting.

  • Monthly Breakfast

At the monthly Breakfast, you can help set up, serve, and clean up during our monthly breakfast events. This includes tasks like preparing food and beverages, welcoming guests, keeping the serving area tidy, and assisting with clean-up afterward. It’s a great way to support our community, connect with others, and be part of a positive and welcoming environment.

  • Internal Events

From dances to game days, our internal events bring joy, connection, and excitement to our participants. As an Internal Events Volunteer, you can help plan and prepare these fun in-house activities that give everyone something to look forward to. Whether you're decorating, organizing games, helping with snacks, or setting up music, your creativity and support help make these events special and memorable.

  • Workshops

Do you have a skill, hobby, or area of expertise you'd love to share? As a Workshop Volunteer at OTEC, you’ll have the chance to lead a one-time or recurring session for our participants. Whether it’s cooking, crafting, music, job skills, financial literacy—or anything in between—your workshop can inspire, educate, and build confidence in others. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds to come in and teach something meaningful in a supportive environment.
